Thanksgiving in the Aleutians – Umnak Island Nov. 25, 1943


Greetings this Thanksgiving eve, from Michigan, Edward’s home state. In lettersfromasoldier.com Eddie’s only Thanksgiving spent on base, as he was on furlough the next year, was in Alaska. Check out this page, http://lettersfromasoldier.com/edward_thomas/aleutians/thanksgivingday_1943.php

Also, here is a picture of Eddie playing the organ. This is in the late 1940s, as this is his Romeo home, which my dad still lives here. There is an organ in this same spot as of this date.

    I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. We did, and then a reunion on Saturday, and then Christmas decorations put up on Sunday, so just getting caught up.
